Tips for Great Skin

Lavender Body Scrub made with only Organic Ingredients and an array of exotic salts.
When we talk about exfoliation, we generally think facial exfoliation and forget that the rest of the skin in our body needs to be renewed too.
Exfoliation means removing dead skin cells to reveal the younger looking and healthier skin underneath.
We all exfoliate everyday in a natural not quite efficient way. Millions of dead skin cells are pealed off by either biological action (the natural mechanism of our body to get rid of old skin) or mechanical action (scratching, using tight clothe, rubbing, etc) on a daily basis, but despite this, millions of death skin cells remain attached to the body by just simply our own natural oils and dirt. These dead skin cells are the ones responsible to make our skin look tired and in many cases old by increasing our natural expression lines and skin folds. Dead skin cells that have been left attached for too long decay producing acne infections and body odor. In many cases soaps alone don’t do the job properly and that’s when exfoliants come in handy. One of the areas women have the tendency to overlook are their lips. We care for our skin, we clean, exfoliate, tonify, moisturize and hydrate our facial skin and entire body. We even apply special serums and lotions around our eyes in our desperate attempt to reverse the course of nature, but the majority of us don’t pay attention to our lips, or we don’t care for them as we should.
Our lips get damaged on a daily basis and we don’t notice or we care too little until the damage starts to affect our daily life. We bite our lips (for those of us who have this bad habit), we chew gum, we kiss, we smile, some smoke, we talk probably all day, our lips are in contact with cold and hot beverages every day and we always want them to look their best just by applying some new lipstick. Alas, we care for our teeth more than we care for our lips!
The truth is our lips need to be taken care of, they need more attention or by the time we realize we’ve damaged them to the point of no return there is no solution but a surgical one. Let’s face it, our lips are one of the parts of our body we move the most. They get wrinkled just like your eyes do, especially if you’re a smoker, and they get happy if by mistake you applied some night cream near them.
Isn’t it time to treat them better?
At By Valenti we’ve formulated our line of Organic Lip Balms to care for your lips not only when they are dry and chapped, but to use them at night as your regular night beauty treatment. Packed with a rich deep moisturizing blend of organic oils, vitamin E, essential fatty acids and antioxidants, our Organic Lip Balms are designed to repair, moisturize and protect your lips. A daily use of any of these powerful lip treatments will visibly improve the appearance of your lips, reducing those fine lines and wrinkles around your lips while preventing the formation of new ones.
Simply include any of our formulas into your night beauty routine.
* Clean your lips with a mild non alcohol base makeup remover, to remove excess lipstick from your lips,
* Apply a small amount of any of our Organic Lip Balms before going to bed,
* Do this every night and you will see the difference.
We all love summer, what’s not to love?! the beach, the sand, a perfect tan, but with all this your skin can rapidly look old, leathery and not necessarily young and good looking.
So to keep your skin looking young and healthy even after a heavy tan you need to provide it with a deep regenerative moisturizing treatment.

First…
Shower with a mild made with organic ingredients soap to remove that tanning lotion, sand and salt you picked up at the beach. You want a soap that won’t irritate your skin even further but that will provide a soft cleaning action. A soap we recommend is our Truly Organic Castile Soap ($8.00). If you need to gently exfoliate try one of our 100% Cotton Washcloths ($2.50)

Second…
The first 24 hours after tanning are crucial in recovering the healthy natural appearance of your skin. As your skin lost quite a lot of moisture you need to replenish it fast and drinking enough water or natural juices sometimes is not enough. So dip on a warm bath and drop one of our moisturizing bath bombs. We recommend our Honey & Shea Butter ($6.00) for a deep moisturizing treatment. Stay in the bathtub for at least 10-15 minutes so your skin can properly nourish from all the organic oils and butters designed to replenish and protect your damaged skin. After the bath dry by patting your skin (not rubbing) with a clean preferably cold towel to close your pores. You’ll feel your skin hydrated and fresh.

Third…
As a daily moisturizing use one of our Organic Body Oils ($21.00) to keep your skin hydrated and rejuvenated.
Healthy radiant skin starts from the inside out, and I know a little about it. I’m 42 years old and certainly don’t look my age at all! my secret? these simple to follow tips:
- Eat plenty of fresh organic vegetables, fruits, chicken & fish and avoid red meat. The nutrients in fresh veggies & fruits are essential for a good looking skin.
- Don’t eat more than 3 eggs a week as these contain high cholesterol. The higher your cholesterol the more your skin won’t look radiant & vibrant.
- Don’t forget to use a good organic vegetable soap for your daily cleaning. This step is very important! the less chemicals your bath & body products contain the better and younger looking skin you’ll have and the less your chances of developing skin cancer. Keeping chemicals away, is one of the keys for radiant healthy skin.
- Make sure the products you use don’t contain artificial colorants (FD&C, D&C or the European equivalent) as these are all made with petroleum and can and will harm your skin. FD&C, D&C and other artificial colorants increase your chances of skin cancer.
- Stay away from products containing Sodium Lauryl Sulphate, this particular chemical is responsible for premature aging and hair loss.
- Stay away from commercial soaps or soaps and beauty products containing animal fat or tallow, as they are also responsible for premature aging and acne breakouts.
- Drink plenty of mineral water and freshly made juices rather than drinking pre-packaged juices as they contain preservatives, not good for your skin. Nothing is better for your skin and body that a freshly squeezed orange juice or a banana smoothie made with organic soy milk.
- Avoid prolonged exposure to sun especially between 11am and 3pm as this is when sun rays are more damaging to your skin.
- Make sure your make-up contains only mineral ingredients. Yes, mineral make-up is more expensive, but so is your body and health. The better your products the less you will go to the doctor!
- Exercise at least 3 times a week. Take the habit of doing any outdoor exercise at least 3 times a week during the early hours of the day. You can go for a walk, hike, or even do some biking if that’s what you like. Outdoor exercise is good for your lungs as you a breathing better air, for your body, your mind and your skin.
Remember, the better you take care of your body the younger your skin looks.

If you are tired of paying hundreds of dollars for an hour at your Spa, and want an affordable, simple solution then keep reading!
Spas are great don’t get me wrong! but the expenses can add up in these difficult times and if you are like me and have a stressful business you’ll need a spa session more than once a month!
So I came up with a simple solution which work wonders for me! I created my own private Spa night. I separate an hour or two just for me once a week, or whenever I need a relaxing moment. This is the time for me, where kids are not allowed to ask mommy for anything (that’s when dads come so handy!). I gather all I need, close the bathroom door, set up my spa and pamper myself!
To create your own spa at home to pamper your skin and release some stress this is what you’ll need:
- A bathtub
- Some scented candles (get the good quality ones, not the cheap ones, they make a huge difference!)
- Soft music
- A bath bomb (choose the bath bomb according to the mood you want to set, lavender to relax, jasmine for a sexy retreat… well, you get the idea)
- A couple of slices of freshly cut cucumber.
Fill the bathtub with warm water. Light on the candles and turn off the light in your bathroom. Put some music and get in your bath tub. If you need get some towels to make a pillow to rest your head. Have your cucumber slices handy. Once you are comfortable drop the bath bomb in the water, get the slices of cucumber in your eyes and enjoy your own personal retreat!
