Isopropyl Alcohol also known as propan-2-ol or 2-propanol, is a colorless, flammable chemical compound (chemical formula CH3CHOHCH3). Like ethanol and other alcohols, it is used in the manufacturing of a wide variety of industrial and household chemicals, used as a solvent in industrial manufacturing, used as a specimen preservative in laboratory environments, and is a common ingredient in chemicals such as antiseptics, disinfectants, and detergents.
The global Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic paired with panic, has created a shortage of properly formulated hand sanitizers, one of the most important products to prevent contamination and the spread of this terrible disease when soap and water aren't available.
The FDA (Food and Drug Administration) and WHO (World Health Organization) recognizing this shortage and the need for more suppliers and formulators to step up and meet demand, has relaxed their regulations allowing companies like ours, under strict guidance and following pre-determined formulations, to manufacture alcohol based hand sanitizers. At BVO we are using Isopropyl Alcohol exclusively in the manufacture of our Hand Sanitizer.
