Valenti's Skincare Routine

"Knowing your skin type is the first step in achieving healthy skin." – Manuela Valenti / Founder & CEO

Skincare isn’t one-size-fits-all — it starts with understanding your skin’s true needs.
As the founder of BY VALENTI®, I know firsthand how complicated achieving healthy skin can be, especially with so much misinformation out there.

I have combination skin — oily, dry, and normal zones — with added challenges like dermatitis, postmenopausal acne, and skin cancer (currently in remission). Because of that, my routine isn’t about trends or marketing gimmicks — it's about choosing every product with precision, purpose, and respect for the skin’s natural physiology.

This is the system I personally trust, step by step. It's designed to cleanse, support, and protect my skin at every stage of life, using only my own BY VALENTI® products, crafted through two decades of research, blending science, art, and Italian heritage with the best actives and ingredients nature offers.

Come with me — let’s go through it together.

  • Step 1 | Double Cleansing (A.M. & P.M)

Cleansing is always the first thing I do, morning and night. It’s the most important step to keep my skin clear and balanced — whether I’m removing a full face of makeup or just refreshing my skin after waking up.

My trusted duo? The Olive Facial Cleansing Oil and the Bulgarian Lavender & Mandarin Facial Foaming Cleanser. These two are the foundation of my entire routine.

    Here’s how I use them:

I start by warming a few drops of the Olive Facial Cleansing Oil between my fingertips, then gently massaging it onto dry skin. I take my time, especially around the eyes, to dissolve makeup, or any buildup.

Without rinsing, I follow immediately with the Facial Foaming Cleanser — massaging it directly over the oil to create a soft, creamy lather. Then I rinse everything off with lukewarm water.

This method keeps my skin clean without ever feeling dry or tight — just fresh, soft, and ready for what’s next.

  • Step 2 | Masking (Once a Week)

I keep masking simple — no more than once a week. Overdoing it can do more harm than good, especially for skin like mine that needs balance, not aggression.

When it's time to treat my skin, I reach for the Japanese Green Tea Exfoliating Clay Mask. I prepare it by mixing the powder with a little warm water until it forms a creamy, smooth texture. Using a clean brush or my fingers, I apply a thin, even layer over my face and neck, carefully avoiding the eyes and lips.

I gently massage the mask in small circles for about a minute to kickstart the exfoliation, then let it sit for 10–15 minutes — just enough for the clays to work without over-drying. When it’s time to rinse, I use lukewarm water and my fingertips to remove it with soft, circular motions. A wet facial towel removes the rest.

After masking, my skin feels noticeably smoother, clearer, and more refreshed—ready for hydration.

  • Step 3 | Toning (A.M. & P.M.)

Once my skin is freshly cleansed, it's time for toning — a step I never skip. Toning helps remove any remaining traces of cleanser or impurities, while restoring my skin’s natural pH balance so it’s perfectly prepped for what follows.

I use the Japanese Matcha Facial Toner for this step. I saturate a cotton pad with the toner—never just a light mist—and gently sweep it across my face and neck. I always move outward and upward, massaging lightly to encourage circulation and help the toner penetrate.

This method leaves my skin feeling clean, fresh, and lightly hydrated, with no tightness — just a perfect, balanced canvas ready for my serums and moisturizers.

  • This step is where my skin gets the nutrients it needs to stay healthy, resilient, and radiant. I always apply products from the lightest aqueous texture, followed by the emulsions and ending with the richest oils, following proper techniques — not trends.

A quick tip: I always massage my serums, lotions, and oils gently into the skin. Pressing alone does very little if anything at all. Massaging stimulates blood flow, enhances absorption, and helps active ingredients reach the areas where they can actually make a difference.

  • A.M.

In the morning, hydration and protection are my priorities.

I start with the Barcola Azzurro Mare Replenishing Elixir, applying a few drops onto my fingertips and gently massaging it into my face — including eye area —, neck and decolletage. This lightweight elixir keeps my skin deeply hydrated and replenished all day long.

Next, I smooth on the Lavender, Mandarin & Lemongrass Anti-Aging Facial Lotion. I warm a small amount between my hands and massage it in upward strokes across my face — including eye area, neck and decolletage to lock in moisture and add a soft protective layer.

Finally, I finish with the Olio di C 10% Vitamin C Elixir. A few drops are enough to massage evenly into the skin, helping brighten and support the skin against daily environmental stressors.

  • P.M.

At night, my focus shifts to strengthening and repairing. Because I'm a night owl, I start my routine at around 7pm, which gives my products and their actives plenty of time to absorb into my skin rather than my pillow.

After cleansing and toning, I begin with the Aqua B3 10% Niacinamide Serum, massaging a few drops into my face — including eye area —, neck and decolletage, to help refine skin texture and support the natural barrier overnight.

Next, I apply Bakuchiol Night Repair Cream, all over face — including eye area — using upward, slow movements to ensure the rich, nourishing cream is fully absorbed.

I complete the routine with Liquid Rose Gold Night Repair Serum, massaging it delicately into the skin. 2-4 drops of this oil-based serum all over face — including eye area —, neck and decolletage, delivers lasting moisture and nourishing power, supporting the skin’s natural recovery process while I sleep.
