Meet Manuela Valenti
Manuela Valenti founded By Valenti® in 2007 after years of struggling with chronic dermatitis and severe skin reactivity that conventional skincare products consistently failed to improve.
After decades of experiencing irritation, allergic reactions, chronic pruritus, and recurring skin discomfort, she began closely examining the composition of many products marketed for sensitive skin and found that excessive fragrance, harsh surfactants, poorly balanced formulations, and unnecessary ingredients frequently contributed to further irritation rather than relief.
Drawing from generations of Northern Italian family traditions centered around soapmaking, botanical preparations, and herbal knowledge passed down through her mother and grandmother, Valenti began reformulating historic family soap recipes with a focus on skin compatibility, formulation restraint, and ingredient function.
With a background in psychology, investigative profiling, and more than three decades working as an internationally collected contemporary artist, she approached formulation through research, observation, and long-term testing, developing products designed specifically for sensitive, reactive, and easily irritated skin.
What began with small-batch soapmaking evolved into By Valenti® — an independent Italian-American skincare company recognized for its minimalist formulations, cruelty-free standards, and longstanding commitment to environmentally conscious practices.
Today, Manuela continues to lead product development and formulation for By Valenti® while maintaining the same philosophy that shaped the company from the beginning: functional skincare formulated with purpose, restraint, and long-term skin compatibility in mind.
