DIY Sweet & Salty Tropical Foot Scrub

DIY Sweet & Salty Tropical Foot Scrub

Feet not only support our body and take us places, they truly take a toll everyday without complaining. They can get achy, dry and not very sandal good looking, but they're always there to support us.

If you're like me and don't have time to get a pro-pedi, then you're going to love this foot scrub recipe!

Keep your feet smooth and soft, and beach ready all year'round the simple and healthy way!

INGREDIENTS:

1/2 cup of Brazil, Mediterranean or Pacific sea salt
1/2 cup of organic or Turbinado sugar
1/4 cup of Virgin Coconut Oil
1/2 teaspoon of lime juice
8 drops of lime essential oil
10 drops of vitamin E
* All the ingredients are available at your local grocery store or wholefood store.

Coconut oil solidifies at around 76oF, so to make it easy to work with, simply melt the coconut oil in the microwave just enough for it to be liquid without being too hot. As it cools down it will solidify again. In a bowl add all the ingredients and mix well. Pack in a clean and sterilized container (you can sterilize your container with alcohol), and place in the refrigerator for about 15-20 minutes or until the coconut oil solidifies again. Simple enough!

To use just grab a little of the foot scrub and rub on your feet, paying more attention to those rough areas. Rinse and pat dry.

The salt and sugar will take care of those layers of dry flaky skin while the coconut oil and the vitamin E moisturize, nourish and repairs damaged skin. The lemon juice aids in whitening the skin while the lime essential oil mixed with the natural scent of the virgin coconut oil add that tropical fragrance to the mix.
